More designs!

Hi everyone! Lately I’ve been working on branching out more on the designs I make on Vizune and have 3 new categories: 200 x 200 icons, Facebook Covers and Web Templates. And now you can make requests!

Remember around 2005 when avatars used to be 50 x 50? I noticed a couple of years ago forums starting allowing 150 x 150 avatars and I’m glad I waited because now I can have my avatars be useful for social network sites like Facebook.

Now you’re probably thinking I probably cheated a bit by re-sizing/cropping my existing headers / signatures but I call it re-purposing haha 😛 I’m having a lot of fun making larger avatars, I can now add a lot more detail and won’t struggle as much with animated ones. I will still be making 100 x 100 ones though.

100 x 100 icons are now categorised like Renders, there’s a dropdown menu where you can select series. I noticed in my Google Analytics that visitors would stumble upon my site by searching for particular icons and thought I should probably make it easier for them to search through.

Web templates is different to my website designs in the sense that they are skeleton/base layouts that you can customise to your heart’s content and you won’t need to go through the hassle of making it responsive (please still credit though). For me, I can easily make a web template in about 2 hours but struggle with making good colour schemes and headers (which is why I have about 3 unfinished website designs sitting on my USB collecting dust right now). This is a great way to add more frequent content and people have asked for website design tutorials but I’ve been unsuccessful in that area so this is the alternative 😡

I have also added a Request page and finished my first request which was a Sailor Moon avatar featuring Haruka and Michiru (see image below). Please note this is not customised designs, these are requests for particular anime/video games series you would like to see featured as content and will be available for everyone to download. I would like to make more content that people actually want so I thought this would be a way to do so.

I also have the contact form back (hopefully no more spam). I found out that the WordPress plugin called Jetpack, which I use to track site visits/pageviews/etc, also provides a contact form so I’m using that for the contact and requests page now.

I also want to apologise for my absence in July. I have been working on a new website project with Miria @ Otaku Junk, we’re making a reviews site. I’m not sure when the reviews site will be finished but progress has been going well~ I was also making Kill la Kill screenshots.

One more thing! Like my Facebook page for more insight and updates on the work I do on Vizune. I rarely write blog posts and they are usually just a monthly summary. I’ve added a Facebook widget in the footer now so that you can see my updates when I make them.
